Warranty & After-Sales Service Policy


Service Fee Acknowledgement & Payment Processing Charges

By proceeding with a purchase from CarTek (Pvt) Ltd, either in-store or via CarTek.lk, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the following:

  • A service fee of 3% or 12% will be applied depending on the payment method selected at checkout (including card payments, installment plans, and third-party payment gateways).

  • This service fee represents payment processing charges, third-party transaction fees, installment handling costs, and administrative platform expenses charged to CarTek by financial service providers.

  • The applicable service fee will be clearly displayed prior to payment confirmation.

  • Once payment is successfully processed, the service fee becomes non-refundable, even in the event of order cancellation, return, exchange, warranty claim, or payment reversal, as these charges are levied by external financial institutions and service providers and are not recoverable by CarTek.

  • Proceeding with payment shall be deemed as informed acceptance of the applicable service fee.


The Limited Warranty provided by CarTek (Pvt) Ltd applies to selected automotive products, accessories, tools, and electronic devices purchased from CarTek stores or CarTek.lk, subject to the terms outlined below.


1. Warranty Duration

Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase or mentioned on the invoice:

1.1 Electronic Devices

Car audio players, cameras, horns, car chargers, sensors, and similar electronic items:
6 Months Limited Warranty from the date of purchase.

1.2 Car Accessories & Electrical Components

Lights, bulbs, wiring kits, dash cameras, LED bars, and similar products:
3–6 Months Limited Warranty, depending on the product category.

1.3 Tools & Mechanical Accessories

Hand tools and non-electronic mechanical items:
3 Months Limited Warranty, unless otherwise stated.

1.4 Supplier or Manufacturer-Backed Warranty

Products covered under manufacturer or supplier warranty shall follow the specific terms stated on the invoice or packaging.


2. Warranty Ownership & Transferability

  • Warranty coverage applies only to the original purchaser.

  • Warranty is non-transferable.

  • A valid original CarTek invoice is required for all warranty claims.


3. Warranty Repair Obligations

During the warranty period, CarTek will, at its discretion:

  • Inspect and diagnose the reported defect

  • Repair the product or replace defective components

  • Restore the product to working condition

  • No labor charges will apply for approved warranty repairs.

  • Any parts replaced during repair become the property of CarTek.

  • Cosmetic components such as casings, frames, and covers are not covered.

  • Repaired or replaced products carry only the remaining balance of the original warranty period.


4. Warranty Claim Requirements

Customers must provide:

  • Original purchase invoice

  • Warranty card or serial number (if applicable)

  • The complete product with all accessories

Failure to provide proof of purchase may result in claim rejection.


5. Transportation & Handling Costs

  • All courier, delivery, and transportation costs related to warranty claims or repairs shall be borne by the customer.

  • CarTek does not reimburse shipping or return delivery charges.


6. Warranty Exclusions

Warranty coverage does not apply in the following circumstances:

6.1 Physical or Environmental Damage

Including but not limited to:

  • Accidents, misuse, negligence, or rough handling

  • Exposure to liquids, moisture, oil, dust, rust, or extreme temperatures

  • Burn marks, electrical shorts, cracked screens, broken mounts, dents, or cosmetic wear

6.2 Installation-Related Issues

  • Improper installation by third-party technicians

  • Voltage fluctuations, polarity reversal, faulty wiring, or vehicle electrical defects

  • Products that have been opened, modified, or tampered with

6.3 Identification Tampering

  • Removed, damaged, or altered serial numbers, QR codes, or barcodes

6.4 Improper Usage

  • Use of incompatible accessories or power sources

  • Overloading beyond product specifications

6.5 Software or Firmware Modifications

  • Unauthorized firmware or software installation

  • User-initiated modifications or configuration errors

6.6 Normal Wear and Tear

  • Battery capacity reduction over time

  • Gradual LED dimming consistent with product lifespan

6.7 External or Vehicle-Related Causes

  • Accidents, fire, flooding, lightning, or environmental damage

  • Vehicle electrical issues such as weak batteries or alternator faults

6.8 Additional Notes

  • USB damage from non-standard chargers is not covered

  • Camera lens fogging due to weather conditions is not a defect

  • Liquid or chemical spills void warranty

  • CarTek is not responsible for data loss from electronic storage devices


7. Defective on Arrival (DOA) Policy

  • Customers are required to inspect products upon receipt.

  • Any defects, damages, or incorrect items must be reported within 24 hours.

  • Claims reported after this period will be handled under standard warranty terms.


8. Warranty Service & Repair Process

8.1 Submission Procedure

  • Notify CarTek via phone, WhatsApp, or email

  • Submit the product to CarTek or an authorized service partner

  • Transportation costs remain the responsibility of the customer

8.2 Inspection & Processing Timeline

  • Inspection: 3–7 working days

  • Repair or replacement: up to 14 working days

  • Supplier-handled cases: 20–45 working days

8.3 Out-of-Warranty Repairs

  • Applicable repair charges will be communicated in advance

  • Repairs proceed only upon customer approval

CarTek reserves the right to approve or decline warranty claims based on inspection findings.


9. Limitations of Liability

To the extent permitted under Sri Lankan law, CarTek shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of data

  • Vehicle issues arising from third-party installation

  • Indirect or consequential damages


10. Acceptance of Terms

By completing a purchase from CarTek (Pvt) Ltd, the customer confirms acceptance of:

  • Service Fee Policy (3% / 12% – Non-Refundable)

  • Warranty & After-Sales Service Policy

  • Return & Exchange Policy

  • Any additional terms stated on the final invoice
